Senior Amanda Klohmann Receives Mizzou '39 Award

Every year the Mizzou Alumni Association Student Board honors the top 39 graduating seniors for their academic achievement, leadership and service to the University and community. This year is the 7th annual Mizzou '39 class, chosen in the month of February, the same month (in 1839) when Mizzou was founded. The Mizzou '39 class was officially revealed to the University on February 13th with a candelight ceremony. The students were also announced at the Mizzou basketball game vs. Texas Tech and attended a banquet at the Alumni Association Center this past Saturday night.

Amanda is a convergence journalism major from St. Louis, Missouri. She is pictured to the left with her parents. Along with being a former Delta Gamma president, she has also been a DG Homecoming liaison, Vice President of Social Standards and Director of Lectureship. Outside of DG Amanda is a part of Omicron Delta Kappa Tap Day Society, the Mizzou club soccer team, is current Greek Week Steering Committee member, and last summer had an internship in New York City with Time Inc. We are so proud to have one of our own Delta Gamma's receiving such an elite award. Congrats Amanda!

HAPPY PINAFORE!

Saturday evening, the women of Delta Gamma celebrated our annual date party, Pinafore. DG's look forward to this night every year, and this year was no different. Dates wear homemade sailor hats similar to the ones new members wear on Bid Day. The party is held at a local bowling alley and girls and their dates bowl the night away. Delta Gammas are already looking forward to next year's festivities.

DGs Rock-It to support MS fundraiser!

Last week Mu chapter participated in RAMS. Members had fun taking part in service events, cup night, a banner competition, and, of course, the culminating event, Rock It - a lip synch and dance contest.

RAMS stands for Rockin' Against Multiple Sclerosis, which is a campus-wide fundraiser to raise money to help local clients of the MS Institute. The funds raised are used to help make clients' lives easier with supplies and other items they may need. Delta Gamma is a long-time participant in RAMS and looks forward to the event every year.

Thank you and good job:
...to all of the RAMS 2011 dancers - way to bring rock and roll (this year's chosen theme) to the Blue Note stage!
...to the RAMS liaisons Grace Yim (pc 10) and Jill Baker (pc 09) - you guys did a great job taking the lead for DG!
...to Breanna Hance (pc 08) - you represented DG so well as a member of the RAMS Steering Committee!

RAMS raised $76,000!

Cooking for a cause!

Though Greek Week has not officially begun, Delta Gamma and Delta Tau Delta are already finding ways to team-up to give back to the Columbia community. This past weekend they did so by forming a team for a chili cook off benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of America.

Together the pairing worked to sell tickets to the event and formed two teams which dedicated their day toward cooking gallons of chili for event attendees. A thank you goes to Cameron Sprock (pc 09) for organizing the participating Mu members and, of course, to the men of Delta Tau Delta for initiating DGs involvement in this great service opportunity!

Bright and Tight!

To celebrate a new semester and a new greek grouping, Delta Gamma teamed up with the men of Delta Tau Delta and Theta Chi for a "tight and bright" marriage party. The event hosted at Beale Street (the venue in Columbia, not the real one in Memphis) was a great kick-off to Greek Week 2011!
