Want to know what the Delta Gamma's have been doing this semester for foundation projects - then check this post out!
Throughout the semester girls have been rotating taking turns spending an afternoon once a week at Candlelight Lodge retirement community. Members spend Tuesday afternoons painting resident's nails, playing games, and sometimes just talking. Mu members will continue to do this weekly through the end of the semester.
Last Monday members also worked on a project specifically for Service For Sight. VP of Foundation Kathryn Bergmann (08) bought supplies to make touch and feel books for blind children. Members glued string to coloring books to outline pictures and create images. Kathryn then sent the work to schools for the blind in St. Louis and Kansas City.
Also Mu alum Danielle Hohmeier (05) is the volunteer coordinator for the Delta Gamma Center's 2010 Run for Sight. The run is one of the Center's biggest fundraisers and helps raise a lot of money for children with visial impairments. Mu members are working to organize a few girls to take the trip to St. Louis to help out. If you are interested in participating, the run is Sunday, May 2nd).
